What Are We Afraid Of?

I have been writing this blog for going on about 6 years now and it never ceases to amaze me, that others are very slow to take positive action in their lives.

This not only applies to the people who have been reading this blog but also those who are in my circle of influence.

I have been offering a resource to the people on this blog and to my email list, that I believe to be some of the best success information available on the internet. And not only that but it’s FREE!

Being that it is FREE, I am astounded at the low number of people who actually take action and sign up for this great resource.

I have been thinking about it for a little while now and I think that I have come up with the answer.

When people are exposed to this information, the excuses for why they are in the position they are in are no longer valid. Because most will start to take positive action in their lives and start to make things happen.

But for those who want to continue to have the excuse for not getting what they want, they don’t want to expose themselves to the information that will improve their lives because then they will have to be responsible.

They are afraid of being “responsible”.

When things go wrong at work, you can identify these people by this saying “It’s not MY job.”

It is sad.

What is YOUR Success Based On?

If you listen to the radio, watch any TV or pay attention to anything that is going on in the political landscape now, you are probably noticing a lot of promises being made with very little follow through.

As this may not sound uncommon when you are dealing with politicians, it seems to be more prevalent today then in any other time in our history.

If you are those who were anticipating the passing of the “FREE” health care system that was promised, you are probably pretty upset. And for those who would have had to fund this you are probably pretty happy.

When you have a government who promises something to you for nothing, do not be fooled by this. Someone will have to pay for this. If you are one who would benefit from such a set up, you need to be very careful.

This is what is called “Re-Distribution of Wealth”. This is a bad thing and never works out in the end.

If you look at history, you continually see countries and societies that fall when this starts to happen.

When you get rewarded with programs or entitlements that you are not contributing to you are breaking a key to success that will never be denied. And that is the “cause and effect” law of success.

You will always have to pay the price for what you get. It is only a matter of time.

When your success and rewards come from the efforts you put forth, this is when positive things happen for everyone around you.

I am going to leave with one more quote that is also very timely.

“Beware of those who seek to take care of you lest your caretakers become your jailers.” – Jim Rohn

When you rely on something outside of yourself for your happiness, you soon become a slave those or the situation that makes you happy!

How are you managing your Time?

“We can no more afford to spend major time on minor things than we can to spend minor time on major things.” – Jim Rohn

This is probably one of the greatest quotes about time management ever made.

What are spending your time on?

Let’s take a look at your work or your business…

Are you spending your time on the things that matter most?

Examples:

1. Properly marketing your business to keep the flow of prospective customers coming into your business. Here is a great resource that may help you with this http://bit.ly/9QxArn

2. Training your personnel to properly handle the the customers, you are feverishly trying to get into the doors of your business!

As Jim Rohn, would say “Results is the name of the game.”

Or are you…

1. Spending more time in the back office making sure all the paperwork is done properly.

2. Leaving your staff to their own devices while handling the customers.

Spending major time on the things that bring you the most results is key to your business flourishing or floundering.

But the chose is yours!

Take a few minutes to look at your life and start to make a log of what you are doing with your days. If you are focused on activities that are not bringing you the results you are looking for, then it is time to start focusing your efforts and time on the things that will bring you the results that you are looking for.

Are You Going to Be Financially Independent?

“To become financially independent you must turn part of your income into capital; turn capital into enterprise; turn enterprise into profit; turn profit into investment; and turn investment into financial independence.” – Jim Rohn

For most this seems to be a pipe dream… to be able to live off of the interest or investment income of your own resources.

Does that sound far fetched for you?

It is never too late to get going on the simple plan laid out above by the late, great Jim Rohn. It just takes a little discipline and effort to make the right decisions about your time and your money.

If you are like most, I’m sure you currently have a job. And you have income that is coming in from that job.

Another great quote is…

“The philosophy of the rich versus the poor is this: The rich invest their money and spend what’s left; the poor spend their money and invest what’s left.” – Jim Rohn

The best way to get started investing some of your income is by signing up and participating in your employers 401K plan. Some employers still match part of your contributions which automatically gives you a good start on your retirement savings.

From there, it would be a good idea to start taking some of your income and starting a business of your own.

There are many great online resources that can help you to get started here. Affiliate programs, Internet Marketing, MLM’s and many more.

There are links on this page that address all these options. Make sure to check them out.

From there it is important to grow your business and then start to invest your profit into investments that will return more income to you!
